Every year, Vena's biggest finance event needs an opening that actually feels like an opening. Not a logo reveal. Not a hype reel. Something that reminds finance teams why they showed up.
For Excelerate Finance 2025, we translated the theme FP&A Beyond Boundaries from a static visual identity into a film — one that started where every finance team starts, Excel, and ended somewhere bigger. The idea: your best thinking deserves to move beyond the spreadsheet. The execution: a narrative arc that built from familiar to aspirational, scored and paced to land just before the lights came up.
The opener sets the mood. The countdown keeps it.
Rather than a standard timer ticking down to nothing, we designed a sequence with a payoff — the CMO receiving a message announcing the show was starting, before transitioning into the speaker walk-in visuals. Screen to stage, with intention. The teaser made her live appearance feel like a continuation of the story rather than the start of a new one.
